Learn About Our Process For New Patients

Scheduling Appointments

It all begins with a message! We are available for appointment requests via phone or email. To book an appointment, we’ll need to know some basic information about you - name, date of birth, address, phone number, and insurance ID/group number and email address. If you’re coming to us because of a Motor Vehicle Accident or Workers Compensation issue, a little more info will be required.

Before Appointment

After we receive your booking request, we will get you on our schedule and verify your insurance coverage. As a courtesy to you, we will contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage limits. We do encourage you to also reach out to your insurance to confirm coverage to reduce errors.

We will also be sending you paperwork to fill out before your appointment. These can all be done online - no printer required! You will need a desktop or laptop, though - unfortunately our portal doesn’t work with phone browsers. If you don’t have access to one of these, don’t worry. Show up a little earlier to your appointment, and we’ll have you fill out the forms in person.

Check-In

When you arrive on the day of your appointment, you’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk staff. We will have a few additional forms for you to fill out about your specific pain and issues. You’ll check-in using a kiosk before being led into a treatment room. We' will also discuss your insurance coverage and answer any questions you may have. During your exam we’ll take your vitals (weight, blood pressure, temperature).

Our office fully abides by CDC guidelines to keep our patients healthy during the COVID pandemic. Want to learn more about how we’re keeping our patients safe? Go here to read more about our covid process.

Initial Exam

Our initial exam is focused on getting to know you and your body. Your chiropractor will introduce themselves and go through your intake forms to start learning about the issues you’re facing. Next, the chiropractor will perform a physical examination of the affected areas. Your chiropractor will ask follow-up questions to understand more about the problems and begin creating a differential diagnosis. The goal of this exam is to get a thorough history and figure out what’s causing your pain. We’ll try to give you an idea of how long treatment will take and what the cost would be so we are all on the same page.

In some cases, further testing or imaging is required before treatment. In that case, we’ll provide you with a referral and schedule you for your next visit. If no additional testing is needed, treatment recommendations will follow.

Initial Treatment

The initial treatment may consist of therapeutic modalities that include heat, muscle stimulation, ultrasound, or laser, followed by necessary adjustments to the spine. Therapeutic exercises will also be prescribed to fix deep rooted issues. The answer to what happens during the initial treatment is - “it depends.” We customize treatment plans for every individual patient, so treatment might not follow the same course.

After your initial exam and treatment have concluded, we can schedule future appointments according to your plan of care. During your progress, we will re-evaluate where you’re at in your recovery and adjust your plan accordingly.

After First Appointment.

It’s nice to have you back! When you come in for future appointments, you’ll follow the same general process - sign in and then go into a treatment room for therapy and adjustments. After any adjustments, you might be given some Physical Therapy exercises as “homework.” If you have entered your active rehabilitation stage, you’ll do active exercises along with your adjustments.
